Living Boldly Between Two Worlds
Living Boldly Between Two Worlds
Storyteller. Author. Maker of things that arrive in envelopes. Unapologetically me.
I’m Pauline Stockhausen.
I write books, build products, and tell stories about the spaces between. I live between two countries. New Zealand and Tonga.

Who I Really Am
Who I Really Am
City girl at heart, island dreamer by choice. I convinced my husband to build a house in Tonga before I’d ever set foot there, and that one bold move changed how I think about life and work. I now live between two beautifully contrasting worlds and run my business from both.
At 45, I became a mum again. Between the night sweats, the brain fog, and the friendships that didn’t survive the chapter change, I found a strength I didn’t know I had. That’s the version of ambition I write about, speak about, and teach other business owners to build into their own lives.

The Books

Chaos, Coffee and Getting Stuff Done
My guide for the ambitiously exhausted. Not for the person who has it all figured out. For the one running on fumes, still showing up, still building.

Kids’ Adventure Series (coming soon)
An 8-12 reader adventure series following a Tongan and palangi family moving back to Tonga. A story about two worlds, one family, and the kind of adventures that only happen when you cross between them. Drawn from our own life between Auckland and the islands

The Thole Year
Do you spend too much time on your phone and computer?
Here’s a game you play alone, in a journal, with a pen.
A queen came to your room in the dark. She put a black stone in your hand and said three words: “They’ll say it was fever.” By morning she was dead, the gates were shut, and you were trapped in a city full of people who know things they shouldn’t.
Every month an envelope arrives in your letterbox. Inside is a chapter. You read it, you roll dice, you write what happens. You choose who to trust: a healer who can feel magic in you, a sellsword who was paid to get you out, a priest who heard the Queen’s last confession, a stranger who came from a place no one comes back from.
Some of them will save your life. Some of them will break your heart. One of them is lying about everything.
You draw, paint, sketch maps, stick things in. Your journal becomes the only record of what really happened. By the end of the year it’s yours and no one else’s.
No screens. No apps. Just a pen, a journal, and one envelope a month.
For all ages.
Currently in development. Sign up to hear first when it launches.
