Your Fat!

You’re Fat!
How many of you have heard this in your life time?
I had a woman who will remain unnamed tell me i was fat. At first i was horrified that someone had the balls to be so outlandish and rude. Obviously her mother didn’t tell her the golden rule: if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. I know i went bright red because i could feel the blood rush to my face.
Seriously what do you say to that?
Then i realised, well blow me down she was right!
I am fat but what the hell does that have to do with her. Someone i didn’t even know –
Soooooo I got my balls out, whipped out my tongue and said “No shit Sherlock, why don’t you tell me something i don’t know”
HA!
Calling someone fat is meant to be an insult. Something you could say to someone to make them feel small, helpless and unloved. Of course that only works if that person isn’t actually fat and is insecure.
If you are indeed chubby, and have come to terms with this you will probably be:
Comfortable with all their curves and jiggly bits, a little can go a long way.
Live life to the fullest no matter what size you are
Don’t give a hoot what other people think
I mean come on! You’re fat. I would be more offended if you told me I was lazy…. I’d go into a full on spin thinking “How do they know?” Joking of course, ask my business partner how lazy I am, she’ll smack you down fairly smartly.
Of course words can hurt but only if they are your deepest fears. Being fat isn’t a fear. I can still do pretty much anything i want. Something like running might not look that attractive but hey there will always be someone out there that likes a bit more to hold on to.
I laugh about the amount of time and energy I have wasted thinking about the stupid things people say. I bet that the rude lady hasn’t given another thought about her comment but it is something I have poured over more than I’d like to admit.
We are the ones to choose how we feel about things.
Yes words hurt but that doesn’t make them true. Fat is in the eye of the beholder. I am a bigger girl so what! Get over it. I am am awesome.
It is what you do with your life. New flash: Fat girls can DO EVERYTHING you can do!
So get off your skinny arse and think of a better insult because calling someone fat is weak and shows more about you than the person you’re insulting.
