Do you grab opportunities by the balls?
Or do you shy away from them and prefer to stay home wrapped up on the couch watching the latest movie?
I get like this and while staying home is good for your soul you shouldn’t make it a weekly habit.
It isnt hard to get out there to do things…… I can see you sitting there thinking – Money is my biggest set back. …. But isn’t it always?
There are so many things you can do with little or no money – Possibly all you need is petrol.
This weekend I explored Piha and Karekare. Its an hour give or take if you are in Auckland and it is truly like going to a hidden, lost destination. There is not much there but a café and an art gallery but what more do you need.
Explore the beach, listen and appreciated the roar of the waves – The view is overwhelming and beautiful, rough and majestic. If you are keen climb Lion Rock ( no I didn’t attempt it)
There are walks in the Waitakeres that fit all fitness needs. Take a picnic and just explore.
We headed out to Karekare to check out the water fall. Only a 10 minute nice walk and you are presented with one of the most breathtaking veiws. Head out to the beach and walk the sand dunes.
If I was a wordsmith I could express so much better what this west coast beach is like but you have to make the time to visit it yourself. ( I promise you, you wont regret it)
I only got away for one night but it felt like I was away a full weekend. We explored so much and packed in so much into each hour. It was bliss. Of course it helps with the people you spend your time with – They make everything better.
Start making plans to have “Staycations” Get away for one or two nights and keep it local. Go to a location you havent been before.
AirBnB are a great resource for holiday homes. Or check out the local Backpackers, or Campground.
All we need to do is, do a little planning. Look at next month and pick a weekend and book something in. Just do it. Don’t worry about the money. You can do things on a tight budget. Eat noodles and bread all weekend. Its not going to kill you not to have 3 huge course meals.
I dare you too.
