Search for your passion
Recently I attended a women’s group to give a talk on “How to find your truth”. It was a casual get together which I thoroughly enjoyed.
As women we are often stretched to the limit. Some of us are mothers, wives as well as full-time business operators. I admire any woman who as a mother, also embarks on running a business full-time. It is a hard yakka.
Recently we had a wee fella stay with us for a week, and at three years old, he was delightful but man oh man was he constantly on the go. After a few days my husband turned to me and asked me how the hell I managed being a single mum, while being employed part time and studying full time. After a full on afternoon running around keeping Mr. Three entertained, I had no idea!
I think as women we just “do”. If it needs to be done, we do it.
At the end of my talk at the women’s group I had a woman tell me that she follows me on social media. She said she is so inspired by my drive and passion and just loves watching all the great things I get into in my community.
I’ve inspired her to find her passion although she still hasn’t found it yet. She asked me how I found mine. I truly didn’t know how to answer because everyday I feel I am fighting that battle of being put in a box … “oh she’s that”…. But I dont want to be just one thing. While at the moment my passion is community and social media they aren’t the only things I am passionate about.
In the Titanic movie Rose is parted from Jack at the end (rather tragically of course) but for the rest of her life she lives with such adventure. That struck a chord with me and I believe I can live many lives in one. I don’t have to be just that one thing. So my passion for now is business but I am forever trying new things. I want to end my life with a scrapbook full of adventures. From learning new skills, living life to the fullest and being free.
Tomorrow who knows? – I’ve realised that is my truth. That sole purpose gives me freedom. We get so consumed by material things and non issues that we forget every day we waste we won’t get back.
The thing with passion is you won’t find it thinking about it. You just have to find things you love to do and DO! You may be passionate about them for a few years until something else comes along. Just push yourself and read as many books, listen to podcasts, follow people you admire and your Truth, your passion will be there.
Right, get out there and start doing.
