There are so many things I have had to get organise –

1. Like what clothes I plan to wear!
2. What camera gear will I take
3. Laptop VS Ipad

Viva Expeditions send out a manual which has been like a bible. It describes the area we are going to be in and what we need to take.  What to expect and a few safety tips.

I have started to pre-pack my bag and I have far too much stuff. This is the first time I have traveled longer than two weeks so I have gone into overdrive in what to should be taking.  Over the next day or so I will need to downsize some more as I don’t want to take too much.

I have an awesome backpack which is from Kathmandu – it is 29 litres and will hold all my camera gear and computer gear.

I plan to take three cameras – My Canon 6D,  my Canon Gx7 and a GoPro. Let’s not forget i will have my iphone as well.  i should be able to do video and photos with that lot!!

I will also be taking my Jobi tripod and my Canon Tripod as well as a selfie Stick. — So i am going to be loaded down on gear.  Probably have too much but id rather have the options.

I didn’t sleep at all last night. I had so many emotions rolled into one. I’m going to somewhere I have never been to before. I’m nervous and a little scared.  I have never been overseas just to travel. I have always been on trips that are work-related.

To be honest it does make me a little nervous but i know i will be safe because i am going on a group tour with Viva Expeditions!

The trip is 23 days long and the tour i am going on is called Enchanting-South America!!

We will be exploring South America’s most incredible destinations. From lively cities of Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lima and Cusco. Experiencing ancient architecture of Machu Picchu and spot wildlife in the rich Amazon Rainforest. Iguazu Falls to capture panoramic views of the spectacular waterfalls and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Lake Titicaca. 

A trip of a life time!!

When i found out how long the trip was i was blown away !! 

Earlier in the year one of my goals was to travel more and not 3 months later i am about to embark on a trip of a lifetime.

Viva Expeditions have been taking people to South America for many years!

“It just wouldn’t be a good look”  and it probably wasn’t but to NOT jump would of beed worse.  It would have eaten away at me that im denying myself experiences. 

It looks like i wasn’t too scared but i was.  I went right to the bottom and what you cant see is i did get a bit of water in my mouth.  (i was spluttering away)   Not only that did you notice the tide pulled me out – I was under the bridge in no time. I had a slight panic attack but then realised i knew i could get out on the sand bank on the other side. 

I had a ball!!  I have wanted to jump off that wharf for a long time and now i have!

A challenge was set. I jumped to the challenge and learnt the hard way –

One lesson was that I am terrible at directions and I am terrible at puzzles!!

Hours and hours after getting the challenge I was still thrashing around the bush looking for my clues.  Finally, I figured out the co-ordinates and was surprised what I found!!

We should all just pack the computer away and head off outside to recharge the batteries. It certainly helped me. I managed to buy two books (bloody hell they were expensive -I am so used to buying kindle books!)  Its good to have a paper book every now and again.
